Medals at England Championships

Seven of our young athletes competed in the England Under 15/17 Championships at Bedford on 26/27 August.
Under 17 Kaya Walker followed up his Gold in the North of England Championships by winning the High Jump with a new personal best jump of 2.04m. Ana Garcia won silver in the 5000m Walk with Molly Meleady-Hanley taking the bronze medal in the 3000m Walk. Elle Hinchliffe competed in the under 15 75m Hurdles. Although not processing to the final her semi-final finish was an excellent achievement for a lower year athlete. Callum Hay competed in the Long Jump finishing 7th, James May finished 9th in the Pole Vault and Caitlin Rimmer finished 10th in the Discus. 
This was the same weekend as the Yorkshire County Combined Events Championships at Cudworth where the Under 13 Triathlon competition was won by Daphney Adebayo with a new championship best performance of 1860 points breaking the old record by over 400 points. Her training partner and friend Tilly Mycroft taking the silver medal also with a personal best score. In the Senior Women’s competition Katy Robinson won the silver medal with Kayley Alcorn winning Bronze. The Senior Men’s competition was won by Deo Milandu with a personal best result of 6317 points with Tom Grantham the bronze medal.
